About Us

Lynn has been teaching riders for more than thirty years and defines her success by achieving a close bond between horse and rider. She demonstrates and nurtures a respectful relationship that is based on the rider embracing his/her critical role of leadership. Once the horse knows it can expect reasonable, appopriately assertive, and respectful requests from the rider, the horse will begin to trust the rider. That trust is the foundation for a long-term, cohesive relationship.

Please meet our team below. We look forward to working with you!

Lynn was raised showing and training horses, mostly Quarter Horses and Appaloosas. She has been a registered therapeutic riding instructor since 2001, taught at Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding (STAR) until 2014, and was also been STAR's on-lead and off-lead drill team coach. Thanks to Hank and Rosalie, Lynn had the "opportunity" to learn the supernatural horsemanship methods of Chris Irwin. She is gold-level certified in riding and silver-level certified in groundwork. Lynn has been showing Rosalie and Hank in Western, English, Dressage, and cow sorting.

Sam, backup herd leader

Sam is a 13 yr old Tennessee Walking Horse. His main job has been to be aware of the threats (bunnies, geese, deer) to his herd. He always waits for herd members to return from "work." Sam is currently learning to relax and let his mom take care of protecting him on the trail and in the arena. He also likes to drink from the hose :-)

Hank, Warmblood in a small American Quarter Horse body.

Hank is a 9 yr old registered Quarter Horse gelding that was raised working cattle in Georgia. Since coming to our "family," Hank has shown several times in Western, English, and Dressage. He acts like he's 17hh even though he's only 14.3. Hank is an excellent teacher, and he is very appreciative when he works with a respectful, consistent leader. He also likes to roll in the pond just before his farrier shows up :-)

Rosalie, Registered American Quarter Horse mare.

Rosalie is a 12 yr old registered Quarter Horse mare that came to us from Colorado where she spent a couple of years trail riding in the Rocky Mountatins. Rosalie took about a 2 year break after she came to our family, so she could have a baby (Bogo) and "recover" from that experience. She loves to work really hard by going on very difficult, long trail rides and pulling heavy things. She is extremely sensitive and wants to be ridden from the seat - not by using the reins to move her around. She is the resident drama queen.

Bogo, 1/2 American Quarter Horse mare, other 1/2 unknown.

Bogo is a 3 yr old half Quarter Horse mare that also loves to work really hard - right now that means lots of complicated lunging, long-lining, and riding. Just like her mother, she is extremely sensitive and wants to be ridden from the seat - not by using the reins to move her around. She is about 15hh and is still growing. She is the backup resident drama queen, and she requires complete attention when working with her. Bogo is not ready to be a ridiing lesson horse, but she is a great teacher for groundworking lessons.
